Austin Chapter

Aanya is a junior at the Liberal Arts and Science Academy (LASA) in Austin, Texas. Moved by the stigma around domestic violence in the South Asian community and inspired by conversations with survivors, she started The Safe Nest Project to support victims and help them feel seen and cared for. Outside of the nonprofit, Aanya is an avid policy debater on the national circuit and loves researching new topics and travelling to new cities for tournaments.

Diya is a junior at the Liberal Arts and Science Academy in Austin, Texas. As the Regional Marketing Director of the Safe Nest Project, she is excited to help make a meaningful difference in the lives of children impacted by domestic violence by raising awareness and supporting the organization’s mission, helping those who need it the most. In her free time, Diya enjoys swimming, reading, traveling, and catching up on movies.
