Aanya Raghavan

Aanya Raghavan

Founder & President

Aanya is a junior at the Liberal Arts and Science Academy (LASA) in Austin, Texas. Moved by the stigma around domestic violence in the South Asian community and inspired by conversations with survivors, she started The Safe Nest Project to support victims and help them feel seen and cared for. Outside of the nonprofit, Aanya is an avid policy debater on the national circuit and loves researching new topics and travelling to new cities for tournaments.

Sarah Maeng

Sarah Maeng

President, Taipei Chapter

Sarah is a sophomore at the Taipei American School. Moved by the impact of domestic violence and inspired to make a difference, she started a chapter of The Safe Nest Project to bring the nonprofit to Taiwan and support children affected by domestic violence in her community. Outside of the nonprofit, Sarah is a national circuit policy debater, loves spending time with friends and family, and enjoys playing badminton.

Manya Sasanapuri

Manya Sasanapuri

President, Seattle Chapter

Manya is a student at Henry M. Jackson High School in Mill Creek, Washington. After learning about the impact domestic violence has on children and recognizing how often their emotional needs go unmet, she joined The Safe Nest Project to help bring comfort, stability, and care to young survivors in her community. As the Bothell Chapter Head, she works to build partnerships with local shelters and expand access to comfort kits for families in crisis. Outside of the nonprofit, Manya enjoys playing basketball, traveling, and spending time with friends.

Atana Raman

Atana Raman

President, Vancouver Chapter

Atana is a sophomore at Crescent Heights Academy (CHA) in Surrey, BC. She is passionate about supporting kids affected by domestic violence and is driven by a commitment to advocacy and community care. She is excited that The Safe Nest Project has expanded into Canada, and she works to ensure young children feel supported, seen, and valued. In her free time, Atana enjoys participating in theater and volunteering at local events in her community.

Abigail Merconchini

Abigail Merconchini

President, South Florida Chapter

Abigail is a sophomore at North Broward Preparatory School. Witnessing the effects of domestic violence inspired her to start a chapter of The Safe Nest Project, with the goal of supporting and uplifting children affected by domestic violence in her community. Outside of the non-profit, Abigail is a policy debater, member of Spirit Club and Math Club, dancer, and a volunteer at Hands on South Florida.

Sarah Milbratz

Sarah Milbratz

President, Chicago Chapter

Sarah is a sophomore at New Trier High School (NTHS) in Winnetka, IL. Moved by the lasting effects of domestic violence on children, she joined The Safe Nest Project with the intent of helping as many at-risk youth as possible. She believes that high school students can play a powerful role in creating positive change and thus is excited to expand the project into the greater Chicago area. In her free time, Sarah is a dedicated figure skater and an active member of both the New Trier Policy Debate Team and the Amnesty International chapter.

Amyra Manghwani

Amyra Manghwani

President, Fremont Chapter

Amyra is a sophomore at American High School. From a young age, she had a natural connection with children and dreamed of being a big sister; a wish that came true when she turned seven. Passionate about helping others, she started a chapter of the Safe Nest Project to advocate for and support children affected by domestic violence. Outside of the nonprofit, Amyra is an LD debater who loves to draw, travel, and spend time with her friends and family.
